Can we really hope that our capitalist society will one day become more equal, more humane, more supportive? What can we reasonably expect? These are questions that can be asked through music, with a smile at the corner of one’s lips, like a final glimmer of hope before everything, perhaps, collapses. A unique percussive folk guitar style serves as the sole arrangement for this voice-and-guitar performance, recorded live in a single take, without edits or overdubs — a captured moment in time.

“I gave this song a narrative, almost scripted form in order to preserve a sense of freshness, playfulness and satire despite the rather heavy subject matter: the dysfunctions and inequalities generated by the system. It’s also a nod to my first album (released in 1995): a few lines borrowed from the chorus of the song ‘Tilt Coco’, a way of saying that I’ve been waiting for the great upheaval for a very long time.” – Stéphane Blok.
