Weak and Predatory

New single out now !

Pain Magazine unleashes « Weak and Predatory, » the third single from their upcoming album Violent God. The collaboration between French post-hardcore band Birds in Row, which includes singer-songwriter Quentin Sauvé, and electronic-industrial duo Maelstrom and Louisahhh, finds Bart Balboa’s vocals cutting through dense layers of grinding guitars and the whir-hiss of electronics, delivering a direct assault on the mechanisms of economic exploitation.

The track dissects the predatory nature of unchecked capitalism, examining how corporate power systematically strips away basic necessities from working people. Pain Magazine’s hybrid sound provides the perfect vehicle for this economic autopsy, with the car crash of electronic elements and grinding, organic noise supporting Balboa’s confrontational delivery as he catalogs the steady erosion of social safety nets.

« Weak and Predatory » strips bare the grotesque theater of late-stage capitalism, where silk-suited predators feast on the bones of the working class while basic human dignity becomes a luxury item. The track’s relentless industrial pulse mirrors the grinding machinery of a system that devours rent money, healthcare, education, and dreams with equal appetite. Pain Magazine transforms economic violence into sonic brutality, channeling the rage of an entire generation watching their futures auctioned off to the highest bidder.

With imagery that moves from the lonely grandeur of burning cathedrals to the mundane cruelty of eviction notices, the song captures both the apocalyptic scale and intimate devastation of systemic exploitation. This is protest music forged in the furnace of genuine desperation, where political consciousness and primal scream therapy collide.

Following their previous singles’ exploration of injustice and collective trauma, « Weak and Predatory » sees Pain Magazine fully embracing their role as musical agitators, wielding their hybrid sound like a weapon against complacency. The supergroup continues to prove that the marriage of post-hardcore fury and electronic precision can birth something truly dangerous.

« Weak and Predatory » is available on all platforms, especially Bandcamp, July 25, 2025.
