Prune Carmen Diaz Unveils her New Single « Flight Simulator » from the Upcoming Album « Disobedience »
This soaring, revengeful piece was originally written in Louis Jucker’s attic, based on a Yamaha keyboard beat. It appears on record transfigured into a piano-drums-guitar version, thank to a collective arrangement by Nathan Baumann, Pascal Lopinat, Elie Zoé and Louis Jucker that sets the tone for a powerful, orchestral album. This mutation mirrors the one of a singer who has patiently built her own tools, both musical and relational, and who reappears today on stage with renewed strength.
As Prune Carmen Diaz puts it:
« I’ve always dreamed of playing with a kind of relationship simulator like there is for airplanes. You practice, you’re sure you know all the pitfalls of aeronautics, you can learn to master certain tricks, you manage to avoid the crash and, above all, you don’t have to navigate by sight as I do in every emotional relationship.
For me, this track is pretty much how a perfect airplane trip should feel like;
We’re at take-off, everyone is calm. At the same time, there’s a low-tuned drone in the background, a humming bass, which helps creating a kind of comforting environment. Suddenly, strange piano licks appear that foreshadow the arrival of birds, clouds, all kinds of unpredictable things that will compromise the stability of the flight, so everyone is embarked straight into the unknown. »
