We’re very happy to finally share I Know My Headphones Really Well, the debut album from Manic Pixxies.
The album has been nearly four years in the making. Some of these songs are four or even five years old, having been reworked and properly recorded while still carrying the same energy and soul they had from the very beginning. The album title ultimately became the best way to encapsulate both the process and what these songs mean to the band.
The record revolves around the intimate relationship between you and your headphones. They’ve heard everything you’ve ever wanted to enjoy, hide, or fully immerse yourself in. Putting on your headphones means making the choice to truly listen. Yet every pair makes you hear things a little differently: sometimes the sadness hits harder, sometimes the excitement feels amplified. To fully experience this album, you need to know your headphones really well.
Across seven tracks, Manic Pixxies move between urgency and introspection, bringing together tension, nostalgia, vulnerability and release.
